An e-commerce operator that builds AI. Not the other way around.

Most agencies hand you a Zapier setup and an invoice. Orion has spent a decade running the operations he now automates.

Bellatrix started inside the warehouse, not the boardroom.

Before there was an agency, there was a storefront. Then another. Then a catalog of regulated products most platforms didn't want to touch — lithium batteries, HAZMAT shipping, firearms accessories, restricted listings. The kind of e-commerce work that breaks every off-the-shelf tool you throw at it.

Orion Stephenson has been running e-commerce operations since before most AI agencies existed. A systems thinker by training — a brief background in military education will do that — and an operator by choice. Miami-based since 2008. Ten years of running catalogs across Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and Shopify. Ten years of suspensions, MAP violations, return floods, repricing wars, HAZMAT compliance flags, and customer service queues that don't sleep.

Ten years of watching agencies parachute in with playbooks that fall apart the moment they touch a real catalog.

Then AI got actually good.

Sometime in 2023, the tools quietly crossed a line. The same automations that took six VAs and a Slack channel to coordinate — listing optimization, inbox triage, lead enrichment, fraud checks, returns processing — became a problem that one well-built AI agent could handle on autopilot.

I started building them for my own stores first. The batteries store. The consulting clients. The friend with the Shopify catalog hemorrhaging on customer service. Every system was tested in production on a real business before it was ever sold.

If it can't survive contact with a real catalog, a real customer, and a real margin, it doesn't ship.

One person. Fully accountable.

Bellatrix Industries is a solo operation. That's intentional. When you work with Bellatrix, you work with Orion — not a project manager who relays messages to a developer in a different timezone. One person scopes it, builds it, deploys it, and maintains it. One person is accountable if something breaks.

We still run our own store. Bellatrix sells batteries — live, powered by every automation we sell. It's the test bench, the case study, and the proof that we use what we ship. The agency exists because too many sellers are paying VAs $4,000/month to do what a $300 agent can handle better at 3 AM on a Tuesday.

What makes this different.

Most automation agencies learned e-commerce. Orion learned automation inside e-commerce. The order matters.

Years in e-commerce ops
Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Shopify. Six-figure SKU catalogs. Real P&Ls.

One person. Full accountability.
You work with Orion directly. Not a PM relay. Not a junior dev. The person who built it.

Five things we won't do.

The shortcuts we refuse are why our automations actually survive in production.

// 01

No black boxes

Every workflow comes with documentation. You can see what it does, why it does it, and how to change it. If we get hit by a bus tomorrow, your business keeps running.

// 02

No vendor lock-in

We're tool-agnostic by design. If you want to move from Zapier to n8n, from OpenAI to Anthropic, from Gmail to Front — we build it portable. Your stack is yours.

// 03

No 90-page strategy decks

Audits are direct. Proposals are scoped and priced upfront. Status updates are short. If you need a slide deck to feel like progress, we're probably not the right fit.

// 04

No automations we haven't run ourselves

If we've never put a system through a real catalog with real margins, we won't sell it to you. Our store is the test environment so yours doesn't have to be.

// 05

No "AI for AI's sake"

If your problem is solved better by a spreadsheet, we'll tell you to use a spreadsheet. Automation is the answer to specific problems — not a substitute for thinking.

We sell batteries, and we ship them with our own software.

Bellatrix Industries operates its own e-commerce storefront — a live battery business with real inventory, real customers, real margins, real returns. Every automation we sell to clients runs on our store first. When we say a system works, we mean it's been working on our own books for months.
